DAY TWO - Lady Elliot Island to Uluru
Enjoy breakfast overlooking the coral lagoon on Lady Elliot
Island, before flying west to Longreach in Central Queensland,
original home of QANTAS and Stockman's Hall of Fame. After
lunch we depart for Birdsville and onto Uluru - the centre
of Australia. We will land as the sun is setting on the rock
- an awe inspiring view from the air and on the ground. Overnight
at Ayers Rock Resort or Safari Style camp 'under the stars'.
DAY
THREE - Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Located 460 kilometres from Alice Springs, Uluru (Ayers Rock)
rises 350 metres from the desert and over nine kilometres
in diameter. At sunset the rock puts on a spectacular light
show that changes its colours from red to orange to lilac
in just a few minutes.
Uluru's
important Aboriginal history means that the National Park
is one of only two places in the world recognised as a World
Heritage site because of its living cultural significance.
DAY
FOUR - Uluru to Brisbane
On
the return journey we will enjoy a unique Outback 'pub lunch'
at the Birdsville hotel before returning to Brisbane, via
Charleville.
